According to sub-section 2.2.3.1.1 Comment 2 of the ADR, RID, and ADN, a flash-point limit of 100C applies to UN No. 1202. Because these criteria are not listed in the IMDG Code, the substance is not assigned to Class 3.
However, according to the CONCAWE studies, classification as an environmentally hazardous substance is recommended. There is no evidence to suggest that the substance should not be assigned to UN No. 3082.
However, if concrete test data are available that lead to a different classification according to the criteria for classification in paragraphs 2.9.3.2.3 and 2.9.3.2.4 of the IMDG Code, these test results shall be applied with priority.
